Each pin is a one-of-a-kind creation – no molds are ever used in my work, therefore variations in both design and texture will vary slightly from pin to pin . Hearts are individually cut from a textured slab of low fire red or white clay and stamped. After the initial kiln firing, acrylic stains are utilized to create varying patina, copper, gold, and metallic finishes over different base colors. A light coat of satin polyurethane is applied for an enduring finish. Beading and Swarovski crystals are added for the final touch! Each pin measures approx. 1.5" x 1.5" All Pins are $12, just choose your color and bead type.

The Southern Poverty Law Center is an American nonprofit legal advocacy organization specializing in civil rights and public interest litigation. Based in Montgomery, Alabama, it is noted for its successful legal cases against white supremacist groups, its classification of hate groups and other extremist organizations, and its educational programs that promote tolerance. The SPLC's classification and listing of hate groups—organizations that, in its assessment, "attack or malign an entire class of people, typically for their immutable characteristics"—and its labeling of certain people as extremists have been the source of some controversy.
The International Rescue Committee is a global humanitarian aid, relief and development nongovernmental organization. Founded in 1933 at the request of Albert Einstein, the IRC offers emergency aid and long-term assistance to refugees and those displaced by war, persecution or natural disaster.
Avaaz is a U.S.-based civic organization launched in January 2007 that promotes global activism on issues such as climate change, human rights, animal rights, corruption, poverty, and conflict. The Guardian considers it "the globe's largest and most powerful online activist network".
I graduated with a BFA in Selected Studies through Syracuse University’s School for Visual and Performing Arts in 1978!
My work in clay has gone through many evolutions, starting with basic wheel thrown and hand built functional pottery to carved porcelain and terra cotta vessels. After many years of showing and selling my work at retail shows and galleries throughout the country, I shifted my focus to teaching.
I utilized my art and clay background to design and implement creative curriculum as a teacher of special needs students. My work with this population remains a passion of mine to this day.
Show More...I currently supervise a Day Program that provides community based social, educational, and recreational activities for young adults with special needs. I continue to instruct courses in clay and to produce and sell a variety of clay work including carved boxes, wall hangings and clay jewelry, as well as large clay murals. Now, I am hoping that my clay pins will help support the fight for human rights and decency....Show Less
